Speedy Babbs was a Hollywood stuntman and motorcycle racer before becoming world famous for his Globe of Death. The Globe of Death was a large, steel-framed sphere in which Speedy rode his specially modified Indian Arrow at fairs and carnivals from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Here, Speedy is pictured in 1965 at the Village Shopping Center with Jean Schenck inside the Globe of Death, as eager audience members watch.
